It’s Time for a Change: Meet the 2025 Torrington Democratic Slate
On July 15, during our nominating convention at Bad Dog Brewing Company, the Torrington Democratic Town Committee (TDTC) officially endorsed an energized and experienced slate of candidates for the 2025 municipal election.
This team brings deep roots, diverse experiences, and a shared commitment to serving the people of Torrington with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
We extend our sincere thanks to the entire nominating committee for their efforts over the past few months in recruiting and developing this dynamic slate, especially to Ken Edwards, chair of the committee, for his leadership and dedication.
As part of the evening, we proudly recognized two long-standing public servants for their extraordinary contributions to Torrington and the Democratic Town Committee:
Ellen Hoehne was honored for her remarkable 16 years of service on the Board of Education, including her role as chairperson of the budget subcommittee. Her steadfast commitment to Torrington’s students and families has made a lasting impact.
Glenn McLeod was recognized for his 12 years of service on the Board of Public Safety, 25 years as a member of the DTC (including four years as chairman), and for serving as treasurer for State Rep. Michelle Cook (14 years) and State Rep. Melissa Osborne (four terms). Glenn’s dedication to public service and Democratic leadership runs deep.
Now, we look forward, because it’s time for a change.
Torrington deserves leadership that listens, leads with integrity, and puts families first. Over the coming months, our team will be out in the community, knocking on doors, listening to residents, and sharing our vision for a more transparent, forward-thinking Torrington.
