Who can vote in Torrington?

To vote in Torrington, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen

  • Be 17 years old at registration and 18 by Election Day

  • Live in Torrington, CT

  • If you’ve completed a felony sentence, your voting rights are automatically restored in Connecticut.

Register to Vote

You can register:

  • Online through the CT Secretary of the State

  • In-Person at Torrington City Hall (Room 229)

  • At the Department of Motor Vehicles when updating your license or ID

  • On Election Day at your polling place

Vote Early or Absentee

  1. Download and complete an absentee ballot application

  2. Mail or drop it off at:

  3. Return your ballot by 8p.m. on Election Day

What to Bring on Election Day

  • First-time voters may be asked for ID

  • Valid forms include a driver’s license, utility bill, or bank statement

  • No ID? You can still cast a provisional ballot
