Three Ways to Vote

1. Absentee Voting

For absentee voting, you can request a ballot at City Hall or use the online portal. New this year, no excuse is needed for absentee voting. Since ballots became available at the City Clerk’s Office on October 2, you can essentially request and return the ballot and vote now!

●      Online Portal: Online Absentee Ballot Request Portal

●      In Person: City Clerk’s Office, First Floor, City Hall, 140 Main Street

●      How to return your ballot: Once you receive and fill out your ballot, you can return it in person to the City Clerk, use the 24/7 secure drop box outside City Hall, or mail it. You can also have an immediate family member who lives with you drop it in the box.

2. Early Voting

Early voting across Connecticut this year feels just like voting on Election Day. You’ll insert your ballot directly into the tabulator with the same secure process, trusted equipment, and confidence that your vote is counted accurately. No early voting envelope is required.

●      Dates: Monday, October 19 through Sunday, November 1

●      Standard Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

●      Extended Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27 and Thursday, October 29

●      Reminder: Remember to bring your ID! But, if you arrive without an ID, you can still vote. You will be asked to sign a statement under penalty of false statement confirming your identity. First-time voters who registered by mail without providing identification may be offered a provisional ballot.

3. Election Day In-Person Voting
