Bio: 
 Health and Safety have always been an integral part of Cindy Sherwood’s life. She has had a storied career as a Registered Professional Nurse. During that time she often worked in tandem with both law enforcement and Emergency Medical Services as a Crisis Mental Health Nurse both with mobile teams, Clinics, ERs, and as a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner.  Now retired from nursing, Cindy is currently a successful Real Estate Broker in Torrington as well as a Client Care Specialist with a Torrington based Biotech Company. Cindy understands first hand how mental illness often becomes a major factor in EMS and Police interactions with the community. She is also aware that maintaining a safe community is our local government’s top priority and an important factor in attracting new businesses to Torrington. Cindy is currently the TDTC Treasurer and was recently nominated Justice of the Peace. Cindy and her husband Scott, an IT Consultant with IBM, have successfully raised 5 daughters and now reside in Torrington with their 4 rescue dogs.
