Constable
Name: Paul Farley
Paul has been a professional investigator for 25 years. As a private investigator licensed in two states, he ran his own detective agency which provided all manner of civil and criminal investigative services; from armed security services, to federal death penalty cases, to complex white-collar fraud investigations. For the past thirteen years Paul has worked with the Public Defender's Office and is currently a supervisory investigator in a Judicial District office.
Paul was valedictorian of the 2012 class at Northwestern Connecticut Community College where he earned his associates in Criminal Justice. He went on to earn a bachelor’s in Criminology from Central Connecticut State University before obtaining a master’s in Criminology, Law & Society from the University of California, Irvine. He remains actively involved with the Criminal Justice program at Northwestern as both an adjunct lecturer and guest speaker.
Paul and his wife Marjorie are proud to call Torrington their home for the past twelve years, when they bought their first home here in 2007. Originally from Long Island, they were drawn to Torrington for its small-town sense of community and robust community resources. As part of their block watch program, they’ve helped build their community and have learned the value of actively engaging with neighbors.
Candidate Statement: “I’m running for the Board of Public Safety because I believe Torrington’s police and fire services are part of what make this such a great place to live. I want to continue to support these vital agencies in their missions, while balancing those needs against an increasingly challenging fiscal backdrop. I will be responsive to both the public safety mission and the concerns of the residents who will ultimately foot the bill for that mission”
Endorsements: Paul’s campaign has been endorsed by the Western CT Area Labor Federation, AFL-CIO
