Marketing and communications professional, including speechwriter and company spokesperson. After graduating from Hiram, Robert worked for PR and advertising agencies in Westport and Stamford, CT. Robert retired as Senior Director of Communications from Travelers Insurance, where he wrote about opioid addiction, cargo theft, worker's compensation, and the use of solar and wind turbines on a commercial scale.
Community involvement:
Robert was president of the Corning-Painted Post (New York) Civic Music Association for seven years. In that role, he managed a board of 20 volunteers. “Civic Music” presented concerts for 750 annual subscribers at the Corning Museum of Glass. Artists included Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Sonny Rollins, BB King, Emmanuel Ax, David Parsons Dance, and Christian McBride. Robert recently served a full term on the City of Torrington’s Conservation Commission. He now serves on the TDTC Communications Committee.
Robert is running for Selectman because he believes that Torrington can do much more to improve the lives of its residents. He is determined to fight for what the people of Torrington say matters to them most, including lower property taxes, better schools, and safer, more beautiful neighborhoods.
